"Better day today but absolutely one of the toughest courses I've ever seen...especially yesterday," reported Coach Chris Donielson on day two. "The men's course..PGA tournament in 88 or so. Played better today but what a shock to the system. When I was at Oklahoma it was much different...thought I knew the course but new tees and greens....almost 7,500 yards now. The hardest is the chipping and putting. Miss a green and it may be a hard bogey or double almost every time. Thomas had 74 today...best so far is a 68 and 69 today. Will Griffin's 69 yesterday in the wind was an unbelievable round...one of the best I've ever seen by far."
Coach Donielson noted the high ranking of the teams with five of them in the top 50 in the nation.
UTSA travels to Long Beach, Calif., for the Del Walker Intercollegiate on Oct. 25-26.

Join the ChipIn Club
by Coach Chris Donielson |
The ChipIn Club is vital for the success of our golf program. It provides a special opportunity for you to become involved with our team and the individual players. The ChipIn Club idea came from my days as a coach at the national champion University of Oklahoma. We expanded the concept during my six years at Tulane University and enjoyed tremendous success with events in New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Florida.
Our focus is to build a ChipIn Club support team. We have three levels of sponsorship opportunity for you, i.e., Player Donor ($100-$250), Medalist Donor ($1,000) and Founder Donor ($2,500/$5,000). These funds allow us to be on an equal playing field with those teams that have larger budgets. Scholarship, recruiting and team travel are the greatest need at this point. |
