Luke Healy Former UTSA standout Luke Healy enters his first season as student assistant coach. Healy, who helped the Roadrunners to four team titles during his career, tied for 13th as a freshman as the 2001 SLC Championships and finished a career-best fifth with rounds of 78-68-67—213 at the 2003 conference meet. He was the individual runner-up at the 2001 Air Force Invitational and tied for third at the 2002 Louisiana Classic. “We have been fortunate to have Luke involved as a player with the program during the past four years,” head coach Chris Donielson said. “And now to have him involved as an assistant during his fifth year is an added bonus. He brings along a great attitude of hard work and cooperation. Luke is going to be very successful in life as he graduates and moves into the working environment.”

[Laredo TX 4/5/2003] WACO, Texas - Texas A&M won their own tourney and UTSA's men's golf team ended in a tie for 15th place at the 52nd overall Border Olympics on Friday-Saturday, April 4-5, at the Laredo Country Club. Duffy Pugh shot a 69 in the afternoon round Friday. Luke Healy had the low three round score at 72-73-72=217. Click on team and individual results for details. Here is how the UTSA team scored:
Fall 2003: Posted a pair of top-30 finishes and finished with a 75.33 average ... placed 23rd (220) at the Air Force Falcon Invitational, helping the Roadrunners win the team title ... carded a 232 to finish 32nd at the Nestle/Purina Classic ... was 32nd (232) at the Crown Colony Classic, helping UTSA win its second team title of the fall.
As a junior: One of the most consistent golfers on the team, Healy recorded his third top-10 finish of the 2002-03 season with a fifth-place finish at the 2003 SLC Championships following rounds of 78, 68, 67 ... earned third-team all-SLC honors ... six of his 12 spring rounds were scores of 72-or-better ... had a team-best average of 74.15 strokes per round ... carded a career-best round of 67 at 2003 SLC Championship ... placed sixth at the San Antonio City Open in July 2003.
As a sophomore: Turned in the second lowest fall stroke average at 73.58 and carded an average of 75.76 during the spring ... best round of the year was a course-record 64 at Borona Creek ... finished second at the Air Force Invitational with a seven-under 209 ... 54-hole score of 214 at Louisiana Classic tied for 10th lowest in the league during spring season ... earned all-SLC honorable mention and was named all-academic all-SLC in 2002 with a 3.03 GPA.
As a freshman: Ranked third on the squad in scoring average with a 75.67 ... ended the season on a strong note, posting his best finish with a tie for 13th at the 2001 SLC Golf Championships after rounds of 75-81-71 ... tied for 20th at the Udamon Southwest Classic, his first collegiate tournament, with a 75-74-74 and tied for 21st at the Diet Pepsi/Shocker Classic with a 73-71-73 ... tied for 37th at the Border Olympics in Laredo with a 72-78-74 ... was the team's top finisher at the SLC Tournament and second-highest finisher at both the Diet Pepsi/Shocker Classic and Texas A&M Border Olympics.
