Mike Givilancz

 

fall 2001:  Finished the fall third on the squad in scoring average at 74.25 with a 68 low round.  Picked up his best finish at the Stephen F. Austin Classic on Oct. 15-16 with a 17th place showing after shooting 77-74-75. Went 76-68-71 in the final fall tournament to finish 21st at the San Diego State Aztec Invitational.

 

as a freshman:  Finished seventh at the UTSA Invitational, his first collegiate tournament, with the team's top performance at 72-68-73 with his 68 marking his lowest round of the spring.  Played in just one more tournament for the Roadrunners, tying for 24th with 73-75-82 to give him the team's lowest scoring average at 73.83.

 

before utsa:  A four-year letterman for the Weslaco Panthers.  Won four high school tournaments and district.  Boasted the lowest stroke average in the Rio Grande Valley with a 73.4 mark.  A four-time all-district and MVP honoree.  Won the Tournament of Champions in Houston with a 73-75. Qualified for the Optimist International in West Palm Beach, Fla., and for the Texas State Open.

 

personal:  Majoring in construction management.  Son of Mike and Gloria Givilancz of Weslaco, Texas.  Born on Oct. 25, 1981.  Has two sisters, Giovanna and Brittany.
